Steve Johnson - Chairman
Mr. Johnson has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Edgewood Companies since 2008 and has been an independent Director since his election to the Board in 2007. Before joining the Board of Directors of Edgewood Companies, Mr. Johnson was the President and part owner of Berry-Hinckley Industries, Nevada’s largest independently owned petroleum product supplier and owner/operator of the Winner’s Corner convenience store chain.
Prior to Berry-Hinckley Industries, Mr. Johnson spent 20 years with Grant Thornton, an international accounting, auditing, and consulting firm. Mr. Johnson was responsible for, and the partner in charge of, the audit practice for the Reno office of Grant Thornton. His primary area of emphasis and expertise was in the hospitality and gaming industry.
Mr. Johnson received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Nevada with a major in accounting and was licensed to practice as a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Nevada. He is a Trustee of the University of Nevada, Reno Foundation, and a Board Member for the Douglas County Sewer Improvement District.
Alan Blach, an Edgewood Companies stockholder, has been a Board member since 2008 after previously serving on the Advisory Board. He is a member of the Compensation and Finance committees.
Tim Kelly, has been a member of the Board of Directors since July 2013. Tim had previously served on the Advisory Board since July 2010. He currently serves on the Finance and Audit committees.
Joe Lourdeaux, an Edgewood Companies stockholder, was recently elected to the Board of Directors after serving on the Advisory Board since 2009. Mr. Lourdeaux finished his MBA at Santa Clara in June 2010 and is working on a tech based startup company with fellow MBA classmates. He is also serves on the Compensation, Finance, Corporate Governance and Nominating committees.

Robert A. Winkel graduated from the University of Nevada (B.S. Accounting) in 1982, Santa Clara University School of Law (J.D., summa cum laude) in 1986, and New York University School of Law (LLM, Taxation, with honors) in 1987. He practiced law with the law firm of Maupin, Cox & LeGoy (formerly Walther, Key, Maupin, Oats, Cox & LeGoy), specializing in corporate, transactional, and real estate law from 1985 to 2002.
In 2002 Mr. Winkel joined Barker-Coleman Communities first as Vice President and General Counsel, and later as President and Chief Operating Officer. After Barker-Coleman Communities was acquired by Lennar in 2005, he served as the Division President for the Homebuilding Division with the second largest market share in Northern Nevada.
Mr. Winkel returned to the practice of law in 2008 and remains “of counsel” to the Maupin, Cox & LeGoy law firm. In 2010, he became the Executive Vice President – Real Estate for the Fritz Duda Company, a real estate development and investment firm with commercial and residential holdings in the United States, and in Mexico and Australia.
Mr. Winkel serves on the Boards of Renown Regional Medical Center and Renown Health System. He has served on the Board of Directors of Edgewood Companies since 2008.
